French Bride Cultures

The French know that a wedding is n’t just about the couple, but also for their family and friends. As such, they have many fun and charming traditions that will make for a day( or night) you’ll never forget.

One of our beloved french marriage traditions is the “vin d’honneur” which is like a martini hour for your bride french friends to celebrate the new few before their dining. It’s a great way to mingle with your friends while sipping on champagne and enjoying the company of your loved ones.

Another fun tradition is la jaretiere which is a metaphorical act where the groom likely capture the garter that is thrown by his bride- to- been and wearing it around his neck as he and his wife dance collectively. This is a enjoyment, frolicsome tradition that shows off the couple’s nice laughter and cheerful soul!

A last enjoyment french wedding tradition is a ceremony called la wedding civil, or basically, the community house bridal. This is a very important part of the wedding as it’s what makes your wedding legally conditional in France. Typically this is done the day before the bride and can be followed by a religious or metaphorical ceremony for those who wish to add more service to their large evening.

Suddenly, the french believe that tedium is a sin and as such, they fill their marriages with lots of leisure. For example, it’s very common for the bridal party and close associates to perform a skit for the few. They’re a great way to break the ice, get people laughing and show the honeymooners that their visitors are there to assist them in their enjoyment.
